Invitation - RS Games

Category: Accessible Games

Okay, since I'm still having trouble finding people to play a game with, thought I'd try this, in an organized fashion, rather than just hanging out, hoping. *smile*

I'll be on RS this evening, at 8:00 PST. 11:00 Eastern time. I'd like to play Cards Against Humanity, and it requires three players. Plese join me, and bring your sense of humor!

Otherwise, if there are no takers for that game, I'm up for Rummy, Ninety-nine or Blackjack. Let's play!

I will be on at the same time, on Monday, as well.

anyone else want to issue an invitation? Go ahead.

Cute.

I'm going to set up a new account since I've pretty much forgotten everything from my original one.
Sounds like fun. I'll post back here with my user name.

Thank goodness for auto login. My username is still Preppinmomma.
I'm on now and will get back on at 10 CST.

I couldn't come up with a better user name, so my user name is simply "clever user name". Original, right? I won't be able to get on until 8:30 PST, so if you can wait until then, I'll try to join you. It's too late for me on a regular night since I work and have to be up at 2:30 AM PST. LOL.

Post 6 by VioletBlue (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Sunday, 03-Jan-2016 23:02:45

Sure, I can wait. I'm logged in now, if you happen to see this. If you want to make it earlier, just suggest a time for tomorrow, or a day, if that's not good for you.

I'm VioletBlue on there, too.

Post 7 by KC8PNL (The best criticism of the bad is the practice of the better.) on Monday, 04-Jan-2016 0:09:14

I'm on now. Got back here a bit later than anticipated. Sorry about that. The time I'd be available would be earlier in the day Pacific time, probably about 4 or 5 PM.

Post 8 by VioletBlue (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Monday, 04-Jan-2016 1:01:24

KC, let's try 5:00, Pacific time, tomorrow. Sorry I missed you today.

Post 9 by ApplePeaches (If the zone bbs was a drug, I'd need rehab.) on Monday, 04-Jan-2016 8:32:46

If you're going to be on tonight at 8, I'll be there. I'll be there at 11 eastern
time.

Post 10 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Monday, 04-Jan-2016 10:33:33

I'll be on at 10 CST which jives with all the other times listed. lol That was too much fun last night. Now I've got to work on getting something set up so I can do voice chat.

Post 11 by VioletBlue (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Monday, 04-Jan-2016 16:45:57

Yes, it was a blast!

Btw, Domestic Goddess, I couldn't hear your jaws chattering, the few mins when we did enable the voice chat.

Anyway, see you all later!

I can't wait until they update the Mac version of the client to work with Voice Chat. I'll have to move my Mac downstairs because my big boystruss laugh would keep the kidlet awake. I'm planning to do that anyway though.
If yall aren't joining us, you are seriously missing out. lol

What is RS?

Post 14 by Shepherdwolf (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Monday, 11-Jan-2016 23:14:34

RS game client. It's a downloadable executable which, when run, installs a program on your computer. You create a username and submit an email address, it sends you a temporary password which you then use to log in to the server. The client has several games associated with it, such as battleship, monopoly, uno, cards against humanity and rummy. There are others too, and all have a concise online help page...which is good, because I didn't know how to play half of these games before I saw them. When you first open a game using the RS client, the client will download the sounds from the RS server. This takes anywhere from ten to sixty seconds on average, maybe more depending on your internet connection. This only happens the first time you try and play a game; any subsequent times, the sounds will all be there.

It's sorta fun if you like to play a few games to pass the time. There are text and voice-chat features for Windows, a slightly slimmer features list for MacOS.

I'm Shepherdwolf on RS, by the way, and I'm having fun with it.

Post 15 by VioletBlue (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Tuesday, 12-Jan-2016 10:54:55

Yes, ShepherdWolf, I hope to play with you, sometime.

Still doing Cards Against Humanity, at 11pm Eastern time. Come join us, Shepherd, or anyone else. We have a good laugh.

Post 16 by Shadow_Cat (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Tuesday, 12-Jan-2016 19:36:29

Scott, send me a DM or text if you're going on to RS sometime. Domestic Goddess, send me a Facebook PM if you want to go on there. Those are the Zoners I know I have contact with off site. I may not always see this board when someone's planning to go on there and play. But it always seems I miss the times when people plan to play, but then no one is on when I want to. LOL.

Post 17 by Shepherdwolf (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Tuesday, 12-Jan-2016 19:38:22

I feel the same way. I've caught people a time or two, but most of the people I've played are either non-zoners or are zoners with weird usernames on RS.
Ah well, either way. There's time.

Post 18 by sia fan bp (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Tuesday, 12-Jan-2016 20:17:33

yup, I'm on there but not often. username is the same as on here. no spacing
though. SiaFanBp. :)

Thanks Shepherdwolf.

Post 20 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Wednesday, 13-Jan-2016 16:39:21

Yep, the nightly game of Cards Against Humanity has become quite the ritual. I've invited another friend who isn't a zoner to join up so hopefully she'll remember to do so tonight. Alicia, I'll pm you on FB whenever I'm getting on. Usually, I do Quenton C's playroom unless I'm playing 99 or C A H.

Post 21 by VioletBlue (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Wednesday, 13-Jan-2016 20:55:29

Domestic Goddess, great! It will be fun to have a new person join the game, if she does.

R. isn't a Zone member, either. I don't think he knows about it.

Post 22 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Friday, 15-Jan-2016 21:37:36

We're about 20 to 25 minutes away from Drunk Cards Against Humanity!

Post 23 by VioletBlue (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Saturday, 16-Jan-2016 4:40:57

Yea! I'll have to get something to enhance tomorrow's game!

Post 24 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Sunday, 17-Jan-2016 18:21:04

Hi yall.
I finally got RS Games installed on my Mac. Does anyone know how to speed up the speech? Apparently there's a self-voicing feature because I have to mute my Voiceover's speech or I'll have two men yelling at me. lol The provided speech is soooooo slow though. I don't see how to chage it. I've read the documentation but didn't find it. Thanks for any help.

Post 25 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Sunday, 17-Jan-2016 20:50:48

How do you mute VoiceOver's speech?

Post 26 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Sunday, 17-Jan-2016 21:31:41

I do a triple-finger double-tap on the trackpad.
